  2. This year I opened an ROTH IRA and put the maximum amount possible. I feel foolish for letting my life fall into order so slowly. The issue at hand is how to invest the funds most profitably in order to save for retirement.

  3. Asking you because you were a teacher, and you are very pro-Roth. My daughter is a third-year teacher but is considering leaving the profession because she can’t afford rent and basic expenses. I encouraged her to open a Roth two years ago and she has about $1000 or so in there. She just puts in a little & when she can.

    So far she’s had two employers – one private and one public. Both had pension plans and took from her paycheck for the pension. Someone recently mentioned to me that you can’t deposit to a Roth in the same year you contribute to a pension plan. I hope I have not mislead her!!

  5. Retirement is now more difficult than it was in the past. I've been saving for a long time instead of investing, and right now I only have about $400K. considering all the inflation, i'm thinking of investing in stocks, i dont just have idea on market strategies.
