I wonder if they corner the aircraft market with an aircraft investment trust the same way the wealthy have the housing market if it would be ok. First they one by one buy all Americans airlines then no longer buy boeing planes and just buy airbus until boeing is out of business would that be ok too.
I use Fidelity Investments for my Roth IRA. Is it a good idea to invest in REIT's through that platform ? If it's even possible.

This is a really basic question. If a REIT offers 5.8% return and pays it monthly, how much money would I get each month on a $1000 investment ( I would do more but that will make it easy). How do I calculate interest earnings?

I like the idea REITs, but since I go with a Total Stock Market fund, I feel like moving 5 or 10% to REITs is not necessary or worth it. Still intriguing, though.
