Super clear and super helpful. Thanks!
I am looking for something better than Riverside. I pay for the subscription for 5 months now and I unfortunately just had multiple technical issues. Does anyone have a better software to recommend. I canβt risk my next recording. Thanks! ππ»
Nice video; however, Riverside is not the way to go. It's like a relationship, after the honeymoon phase is over (about 3 months), then their true side emerges. All the niceties cease, the quality goes out the window, you can send messages all you want and give evidence of the problem, but it's like talking to a stone wall. Every time you turn around, you encounter more problems and all the while, they either ignore the issues you identify and talk about other things, or they work hard at convincing you that it is all you, not them.
Sound strikingly similar to a relationship, right? Yea, I left,
Thank you!!!
It's OBS folks, no affiliate link required
I'm confused. These are all video based software. I've always understood podcasts are an audio format… Am I wrong?
Riverside sucks now, we used to use them for their phenomenal recording and producing features, but last year (2024) they got greedy and removed many things from the Pro plan and now to have those features we used to have, you have to go with the "Lets Talk" plan which basically means hundreds if not thousands of $$ a month for it. No thanks.
I had Riverside for a few months. Just too clunky for me. Quality isnt what I expected and as a newbie I just could not figure it out. I stopped using it, and then wasted $ and finally cancelled. I am going to try Descript next … I think
This guy posted only people who paid him
Thanks for the video! How does Zancastr compare with Descript specifically for editing?
What about podcastle
Can riverside be used just for audio podcast recording?
I paid for Riverside and couldn't figure it out. so I left. Now I am going to give DeScript for recording and editing π
We jumped on Riverside based on this video. Thereβs lots I love but Iβm considering looking at other options because:
Itβs not the most friendly for guests (requires Chrome, local recording and bandwidth restrictions make podcasting difficult), and it feels like a lot of the features you really want are locked behind the next tier. Weβre on Pro, but the ability to switch guest inputs and help make things easy for them is locked behind Enterprise (pretty pricey).
This was great..
Amazing videoπ€πΎπ€πΎ
I used riverside with a microphone with pretty good quality, but after recording and editing the audio quality was terrible. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?
Great job!
iPad screen is black using the Detail App! Thanks for posting this. It was helpful. I can't get my iPads to work properly,. They show up in the scene field and I can toggle front/back screens. But the screens are black. I've given all the proper permissions to access the camera on each. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app twice on each. Same result. iPhones connect and are a breeze. What am I doing wrong with my ipads???A
Great video. Any webcam recommendations or do you have a video for that?
Streamyard is MUCH more expensive now. If you got technical problems with Streamyard you should not expect ANY help whatsoever.
With descript can you down load and edit
hi from France :), thanks for your video it's really useful
Would you consider DaVinci resolve into this list? What would be the difference against these softwares?
Great presentation and whose wondering how this guy's teeth are so white?
Descript prices jumped big time.
Question.
No need for live steaming.
Have studio w main camera on two of us and then side cameras that focus on each individually.
Can any of these options both capture all three videos (eg use iPhone cameras as our individual cameras and treat those as βguestsβ) and dynamically generate views between all three cameras?
Great post btw. Leaning toward Dynamic.
TY
this was very helpful! I've used squad cast and had a ton of issues with it. I tested Riverside a bit and might revert to using it because Squadcast has really bungled my recordings for the last few weeks.
What about Podcastle?
Riverside has become absolutely horrible. I saw this video and switched to waveroom. It was so bad that I could only upload the audio because for some reason I couldn't even download the guest's video. Honestly terrible suggestions. I'm speaking from personal experience.
Now I'm watching you speak wondering whether you are looking at the camera or your eyeballs have been moved to be looking at the camera! π
I use stream yard to stream my show, but am annoyed that they have conditions of streaming to X that you have to allow them to access your DMs (WHAT?!) and tweet from your account. So, I avoid streaming to X. If they could ditch that blackmailing condition, then I would stick with them.
Amazing video thank you so much!
I've been recording my podcast on studio one for years.
This was so helpful and you answered all the questions I was seeking answers to. Thank you so much!
I have been considering riverside, descript, podcastle and buzzsprout or a combination of a couple. Have you used podcastle? Do you feel like buzzsprout is necessary or would you use a better editor/live streamer and use Spotify for Podcasters to distribute? Thanks!
The Riverside very poor!!
Great information. It's helping us choose if we want to stick with podbean or Riverside and you made that easy. Ty @msacrusaders
Thanks for your video, really informative and helpful.
Btw I use Descript and just never knew it had recording features ππ being using it as an editing tool and never cared to explore further.
Thanks! ππΎ
Awesome! It took me a few videos to finally find yours, but it was totally worth it. Exactly what I was looking for!
Very informative ππΎ, Thanks!
Squadcast has not worked for me. Is squadcast still what Descript uses for video recording? I was really hoping to switch but every time Iβve used it, it has not worked for me. Big time delays.
Very helpful, thank you.
The perfect timely video for me today. Excellent coverage easily understood. Which will I use? Descript. I am creating YouTube podcast content and training videos for professionals. This clearly is the correct tool. I liked the teleprompter with Riverside, but I can always buy that seperately.
First, thanks for the breakdown of options; very informative! In regard to this actual video, what platform did you use to record and which did you use to edit?
I was going to try Descript but their Terms state they own your content if you use their service.
Great video and extra points for the Captain Marvel shirt!
Thanks, very helpfull
I am using Riverside and it is the worst app I have ever used!
Voice and video syncing issue is too annoying. I really want to cryπ₯²
