  1. I am looking for something better than Riverside. I pay for the subscription for 5 months now and I unfortunately just had multiple technical issues. Does anyone have a better software to recommend. I can’t risk my next recording. Thanks! πŸ™πŸ»

  2. Nice video; however, Riverside is not the way to go. It's like a relationship, after the honeymoon phase is over (about 3 months), then their true side emerges. All the niceties cease, the quality goes out the window, you can send messages all you want and give evidence of the problem, but it's like talking to a stone wall. Every time you turn around, you encounter more problems and all the while, they either ignore the issues you identify and talk about other things, or they work hard at convincing you that it is all you, not them.
Sound strikingly similar to a relationship, right? Yea, I left,

  3. Riverside sucks now, we used to use them for their phenomenal recording and producing features, but last year (2024) they got greedy and removed many things from the Pro plan and now to have those features we used to have, you have to go with the "Lets Talk" plan which basically means hundreds if not thousands of $$ a month for it. No thanks.

  4. I had Riverside for a few months. Just too clunky for me. Quality isnt what I expected and as a newbie I just could not figure it out. I stopped using it, and then wasted $ and finally cancelled. I am going to try Descript next … I think

  5. We jumped on Riverside based on this video. There’s lots I love but I’m considering looking at other options because:
It’s not the most friendly for guests (requires Chrome, local recording and bandwidth restrictions make podcasting difficult), and it feels like a lot of the features you really want are locked behind the next tier. We’re on Pro, but the ability to switch guest inputs and help make things easy for them is locked behind Enterprise (pretty pricey).

  6. iPad screen is black using the Detail App! Thanks for posting this. It was helpful. I can't get my iPads to work properly,. They show up in the scene field and I can toggle front/back screens. But the screens are black. I've given all the proper permissions to access the camera on each. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app twice on each. Same result. iPhones connect and are a breeze. What am I doing wrong with my ipads???A

  7. Question.
    No need for live steaming.

Have studio w main camera on two of us and then side cameras that focus on each individually.

Can any of these options both capture all three videos (eg use iPhone cameras as our individual cameras and treat those as β€œguests”) and dynamically generate views between all three cameras?

Great post btw. Leaning toward Dynamic.

    TY

  8. this was very helpful! I've used squad cast and had a ton of issues with it. I tested Riverside a bit and might revert to using it because Squadcast has really bungled my recordings for the last few weeks.

  9. Riverside has become absolutely horrible. I saw this video and switched to waveroom. It was so bad that I could only upload the audio because for some reason I couldn't even download the guest's video. Honestly terrible suggestions. I'm speaking from personal experience.

  10. Now I'm watching you speak wondering whether you are looking at the camera or your eyeballs have been moved to be looking at the camera! πŸ˜‚

  11. I use stream yard to stream my show, but am annoyed that they have conditions of streaming to X that you have to allow them to access your DMs (WHAT?!) and tweet from your account. So, I avoid streaming to X. If they could ditch that blackmailing condition, then I would stick with them.

  12. I have been considering riverside, descript, podcastle and buzzsprout or a combination of a couple. Have you used podcastle? Do you feel like buzzsprout is necessary or would you use a better editor/live streamer and use Spotify for Podcasters to distribute? Thanks!

  13. Thanks for your video, really informative and helpful.
Btw I use Descript and just never knew it had recording features πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ being using it as an editing tool and never cared to explore further.

    Thanks! πŸ™πŸΎ

  14. The perfect timely video for me today. Excellent coverage easily understood. Which will I use? Descript. I am creating YouTube podcast content and training videos for professionals. This clearly is the correct tool. I liked the teleprompter with Riverside, but I can always buy that seperately.

  15. First, thanks for the breakdown of options; very informative! In regard to this actual video, what platform did you use to record and which did you use to edit?
