  1. Business Negotiation strategies is a topic that i resonate with greatly, as I actively see this in my workplace. Other topics surrounding International management relates to specific types of companies and operations– Multinational corporations with a global supply chain. This lecture entails a process that most businesses partake in. I liked seeing the planning and interpersonal relationship building process that leads to the agreement of the negotiation.

  2. I'm seeing this happen at work right now, and after watching the video, it all makes so much more sense. At work, I usually only see certain parts of the operation, but his video really breaks everything down in a way that helps me connect the dots that are not physically seen.

  3. While negotiating in a win-lose scenario, it is important to put personal relations aside to achieve what you are trying to accomplish. However, in a win-win situation, both sides are negotiating for the better of both sides rather than just their own. I love how this video explains and describes the concept of there being two different types of negotiation. As the video states, you should know YOUR bottom line in negotiating. What is it that you absolutely need? What could you live without? This video was very informative and interesting, and it discussed different business strategies.

It seems as though especially in these short-term relationships, the most brutal negotiation is had. People cling so closely to values and ideals as opposed to interests.

I found it very interesting to watch because i'm going into the business world and can use a lot of these strategies for myself to negotiate deals. I was very pleased to watch this video and learn new things I did not know.

  24. When watching this video, the part that stuck out the most to me was the General Guidelines section. These include, Separating the People from the Problem, Focusing on Interests of Positions, Generating Options and Using Objective Criteria. The first, Separating the People from the Problem is the most important one in my opinion. Not only will this help in your professional life but in your personal as well, not everything someones says that not agreeing with you is to hurt your character. People are able to form their own opinions and that means you won't always see eye to eye!

Negotiation is one of the most important aspects of making a deal and knowing your ability to negotiate will greatly improve odds of coming to a deal. This video was very helpful!

  27. It amazes me how much time managers spend on negotiations. I believe the tips for negation can be helpful at one’s expense. But I believe it to be important to come up with your own style and tricks as you go along the way but this is a good base for the average person.
